How COVID-19 Is Being Exploited By Malicious Cyber Actors

On April 8, 2020, the United States Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the United Kingdom's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) released a joint alert on how cyber criminals are exploiting Americans and British citizen amid the coronavirus global pandemic.

In the alert, the DHS and NCSC provide a detailed list of indicators to be aware of when detecting whether you may be the victim of a cyber attack. Both agencies also jointly explain how cyber attacks are growing due to coronavirus because more and more people are now teleworking as the world complies with the guidelines of social distancing.

You may view the alert from the DHS and NCSC by clicking here.

The myriad of issues revolving around the coronavirus outbreak are ever-changing and the information provided may not cover all cyber attacks related to the virus. TRALA will be sure to update its members as new information becomes available. In the meantime, TRALA encourages its members to use this alert as a guideline and be aware of the risks to protect their companies from malicious cyber actors and to distribute it to its company employees as soon as possible.
