The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has published a final rule on the new Unified Registration System. The new system is expected to increase efficiency by streamlining the registration process for industry and enabling FMCSA to maintain more accurate information on the entities it regulates. Cummins Inc. recently celebrated the production of the 1.5 millionth engine at its Jamestown Engine Plant (JEP) in Jamestown, NY. The JEP remains one of the company's largest manufacturing facilities, as it accounts for 12 percent of Cummins total engine production in 2012. . .U.S. Veterans Magazine has named Enterprise Holdings as a top veteran-friendly company. According to Enterprise, veterans make up almost 10 percent of the company's total U.S. workforce. . .Continental Tire the Americas, LLC's Commercial Vehicle Tire group, Detroit Diesel Corporation,  Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products and Snider Fleet Solutions have announced a cooperative sponsorship of the Remembrance Rescue Project. Under the sponsorship, Continental will continue providing replacement truck tires for the Remembrance Rescue Project; Detroit, the manufacturer of the original Series 60 engines in the Project's two rescue trucks, is providing a multi-year donation of engine maintenance funds for the Project; Alcoa Wheels is providing new heavy duty forged aluminum wheels with their patented Dura Bright surface treatment; and Snider Fleet Solutions is offering installation of the new Alcoa wheels as well as mounting and balancing of the new Continental truck tires. . .Eaton has added a Spanish speaking virtual spokesperson, Jose Santos, to assist current and prospective customers with a wealth of information on the company's lineup of UltraShift Plus automated transmissions. . .Ryder System, Inc. has recently opened a state-of-the-art maintenance and rental facility in White River Junction, Vermont. The new facility provides state of the art maintenance and rental services for commercial vehicle fleets. . .Michelin North America, Inc. will continue providing tires to Yellowstone National Park by renewing its commitment to the Yellowstone Park Foundation (YPF). Since 2008, Michelin has donated more than 1,400 tires to help equip Yellowstone National Park's fleet of 800 vehicles, which includes everything from patrol cars and garbage trucks to giant earthmoving vehicles, rotary snow plows and large load-hauling tractor trailers. . .
