Tom Fleming, Chairman and CEO of Aim Transportation Solutions, is a third-generation member of the transportation community hailing from the greater Youngstown, Ohio area, where Aim is headquartered. Tom is a graduate of Boston College where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics.
In 1982, Mr. Fleming purchased McNicholas Transportation, a family leasing company that consisted of 29 vehicles and five employees. Today, Aim operates or maintains nearly 11,000 vehicles with approximately 1,200 employees at over 100 facilities.
Tom is involved in numerous charitable and civic organizations in Ohio and within the transportation industry - serving not only on TRALA's Board of Directors, but also that of the National Truck Leasing system (past chairman), Youngstown State University Foundation Board (past chairman), YMCA of Youngstown (past chairman), and Community Foundation of Mahoning Valley (past chairman).
Tom is married to his wife Mary and has four children and ten grandchildren.
The Steve Lawrence Legacy Award was named after one of the eight original founding Board Members of TRALA in 1978. TRALA created the award to recognize Lawrence's more than four decades of service to the industry and subsequently to recognize individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on TRALA.
Based in Alexandria, VA, TRALA is a voluntary, nonprofit national trade association organized in 1978 to provide the unified and focused voice for the truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA's membership includes nearly 500 leasing and rental firms and 100 suppliers that make up nearly the entire truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA members purchase approximately 30 percent of all Class 2 through 8 over-the-road commercial trucks and tractors operating in the U.S. today.
