Strong Attendance at TRALA’s 2022 Annual Meeting

Aventura, Florida, April 5, 2022 -- The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) opened its 2022 Annual Meeting on Sunday with more than 400 attendees at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa.

“The number of people here with us in Florida is a clear sign that people are ready to get back to business. I think such a strong showing illustrates the fact that the renting and leasing segment of the trucking industry continues to flourish, and TRALA is providing its members with quality information to help them succeed,” said TRALA President and CEO, Jake Jacoby. “From our educational sessions to our policy committees, to the networking opportunities for both our regular and supplier members, it was very encouraging to see not only the number of attendees, but how committed all our members are in their support of TRALA.”

TRALA discussed several critical federal and state issues impacting the truck renting and leasing industry during its Government Relations Committee meeting. The topics included the federal infrastructure package passed by Congress, environmental regulations introduced both federally as well as in California, and industry-specific legislation in the states.

During the Security Committee meeting, the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) sent a representative to meet with TRALA members and discuss ongoing threats to the industry.

The Equipment and Technology Advisory Council meeting featured presentations by representatives from, Volvo Trucks, Bendix, and Ryder regarding the issue of autonomous vehicles and where things are headed in the trucking sphere currently and in the not-so-distant future.

In the afternoon, Mack Leasing/Volvo Truck Leasing System, NationaLease and PacLease began work on their own leasing system meetings that are held in conjunction with the TRALA Annual Meeting each year.

Monday ended with its New Member reception sponsored by Thermo King and an outstanding, well-attended welcome social Monday evening hosted by Daimler Trucks.
