Corcentric Leader Honored with Third Annual Steve Lawrence Legacy Award
San Antonio, Texas, April 15, 2021 -- Yesterday, the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) honored Doug Clark of Corcentric and NationaLease with the Steve Lawrence Legacy Award during the association's 2021 Annual Meeting at the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country in San Antonio, Texas.
"Doug has been a leader in our industry for decades," said TRALA President and CEO, Jake Jacoby. "Doug has been involved with TRALA nearly since its inception. He served on the Board of Directors for more than 25 years and served as Chairman of the Board from 2016-2017. Doug was instrumental in helping establish TRALAPAC, the political action committee for TRALA, as well as instituting the annual Capitol Hill Fly-In. He was also at the center of the successful fight to repeal vicarious liability with the adoption of the Graves Amendment in 2005 that has saved the industry billions. Doug exemplifies what the Steve Lawrence Legacy Award is all about – to recognize outstanding members that have made a true difference for TRALA so honoring him with this award simply builds on that legacy."
Doug Clark has served as Founder, President, Chief Executive Officer, and a Director of Corcentric (formerly AmeriQuest) since 1996. His professional experience includes stints in public accounting, investment banking, and as a technology and transportation entrepreneur.
Doug was instrumental in growing Corcentric into one of the leading tech-enabled business services companies with more than 2,000 customers throughout North America. During his tenure, he has led the company to be named nine times to the Inc. 5000 List of America's “Fastest-Growing Private Companies.”
Prior to founding AmeriQuest, Doug was President of Amtralease, a national association of independent full-service truck leasing companies. A Certified Public Accountant, Doug was a Vice President and Director of Drexel Firestone Inc., an investment banking firm. He is a Board member of AAA South Jersey and ACP. Doug also serves on the Executive Advisory Council of Rowan University's Rohrer College of Business. He received his B.A. in accounting from the University of Miami and his M.B.A. in finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
The Steve Lawrence Legacy Award was named after one of the eight original founding Board Members of TRALA in 1978. TRALA created the award to recognize Lawrence's more than four decades of service to the industry and subsequently to recognize individuals who have made a significant and lasting impact on TRALA.
