South Carolina’s Rick Todd Receives TRALA’s State Trucking Award

San Antonio, Texas, April 13, 2021 -- Today, the Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) honored Rick Todd, president of the South Carolina Trucking Association, with the association's State Trucking Award for his work in representing the industry.

"I cannot say enough about what Rick has done to support TRALA and all of our members. Whether it is opposing interstate tolling, fighting back against taxes on our industry, or coordinating meetings with the state's DMV, Rick has been a fantastic ally for TRALA. Having a state executive so committed and responsive to helping our membership has made a real difference. I am very proud to name him the TRALA State Trucking Award Winner" said TRALA President and CEO, Jake Jacoby.

Rick Todd began his career at the South Carolina Trucking Association in 1979 as an assistant general manager and by 1988, he was named CEO. At the helm of SCTA, Rick's lobbying efforts over the years have positioned South Carolina's motor carriers with excellent operating and tax conditions and led initiatives to reform and restructure state government to better serve business and industry. He championed the creations of the State Transport Police and Motor Carrier Services.

Rick is also responsible for SCTA's TruckPAC being among the largest and most effective at the State Capitol and he is known throughout the legislature as one of the state's most influential voices.

The TRALA State Trucking Award was established in 2016 to honor the state partners that help make TRALA so successful in all 50 states on legislative issues that impact the truck renting and leasing industry.
