Canada has not mandated ELDs at this time. However, Stephen Laskowski, president of the Ontario Trucking Association, anticipates the Canadian government to make an announcement in the Canada Gazette about an ELD enforcement deadline before the end of the year. FULL STORY 
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration officials have stated that if drivers are cited at roadside inspections for not complying with the ELD rule come the December 18 deadline, the citation will be a "no points cite" that will not affect the Safety Measurement  Systems that feeds into CSA scores through April 1, 2018.
