Scottsdale, Arizona (April 21, 2016) -- The Truck Renting and Leasing Association saw a record number of exhibitors at the Technology Expo during the 2016 Annual Meeting at the Fairmont Princess Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the first year with a two-day format for the Expo, and more than 80% of exhibitors were returning exhibitors from previous years.

"We were very happy with the Technology Expo and the turnout from both attendees and exhibitors," said TRALA President and CEO Jake Jacoby. "We changed the format of the Expo in response to feedback from our associate members, and it was very well received."

Of the more than 50 exhibitors, nearly 20% were new member exhibitors. Chevron was one of the new exhibitors, and the first oil company TRALA has had as a member as well. "Exhibiting this year has given us a different perspective on the truck renting and leasing side of the industry," said Bob Meyers, commercial OEM manager for Chevron. "This could potentially change our direction on how we approach this segment of the industry moving forward."

The two-day format started with a reception on the Expo floor on Tuesday night. The format was in response to demand from associate members asking for more networking opportunities. "It's been a great turnout. It's always good to renew relationships from one year to the next," said Bob Spitler, director OEM channel sales for Telogis. "The opening format for the Expo with the reception on the Expo floor was a great addition and resulted in a number of leads for our company."

Anthony Gansle, marketing segment manager for Peterbilt Motors Co., agreed with Spitler. "The two-day format was great; it gave exhibitors more time to network with our potential customers," Gansle said.

"There was a lot of engagement and foot traffic," said Eduardo Navarro, director of business development for Great Dane Trailers. "The venue was great and lent itself to a great Annual Meeting."
