TRALA ANNOUNCES SPEAKERS FOR 2016 ANNUAL MEETING

TRALA is proud to announce Chairman, President and CEO Lawrence E. Dewey of Allison Transmission will serve as the 2016 Industry Speaker, and political strategist and author Karl Rove will serve as Keynote Speaker at the TRALA Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz. on Tuesday, April 19 2016.

TRALA's 2016 Annual Meeting will take place at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess from April 17-20.
 
Mr. Dewey began his career in 1974 as a General Motors co-op student at General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). Before transferring to Allison, he held several positions of increasing responsibility in General Motors' Diesel Equipment Division and Rochester Products Division.
 
After joining Allison in February 1989, Mr. Dewey served in many capacities, including as worldwide Director of Marketing, Sales & Service; Managing Director of Allison Transmission Europe, based in the Netherlands; Central Region (U.S.) Sales Manager; Aftermarket Products Manager; and Production Manager. He was named President of Allison in 2000, and added the responsibilities of Chairman and CEO in August 2007.
 
Today, in addition to serving as the top executive for the world's largest manufacturer of fully automatic transmissions for commercial-duty vehicles, Mr. Dewey serves on the board of directors for multiple organizations, including the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Sports Corp.
 

Mr. Dewey will precede Karl Rove who will be the 2016 Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker. Karl Rove is an iconic political strategist and one of the most sought-after political brains of our time. Rove is best known as “The Architect” of President George W. Bush's 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns as well as serving in the Bush Administration as Senior Advisor to the President from 2000–2007 and Deputy Chief of Staff from 2004–2007.
 

While at the White House, Rove oversaw the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison, and Intergovernmental Affairs and was Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, coordinating the White House policy-making process.
