The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) and 35 other organizations have written a letter to the Chairman and Ranking Member of the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee's Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) which urged the Subcommittee's leaders to include language in the spending bill that would explicitly prevent the FMCSA from spending any funds to advance the rulemaking to increase federally-mandated insurance minimums that currently apply to certain kinds of carriers, or to apply these standards to private motor carriers for the first time. Leena Lie has been appointed Senior Vice President, Communications at Cargotec Corporation as of August 1, 2015. . .Meritor named President and Chief Operating Officer Jeffrey “Jay” Craig the company's new CEO, succeeding Ivor “Ike” Evans.  Craig was also appointed to the board of directors and will retain his role as president of the company. . .Berend Bracht has been appointed President and CEO for Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems.  He will join Bendix July 1. . .President Barack Obama will nominate Gregory Nadeau to head the National Highway Administration. . .François Michelin, who led Group Michelin for 47 years, has died. Money Matters

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Penske Truck Leasing a $400,000 grant for the company's Alternative Fuel Vehicle (AFV) Demonstration and Enhanced Driver Experience Project.  Penske will utilize the funds to further introduce alternative fuel vehicles to its customer base.
