A federal rule to increase the fuel economy standards of medium- and heavy-duty trucks has been sent from the Department of Transportation (DOT) to the White House's Office of Management and Budget (OMB).  Once cleared by OMB, the rule must still be published as a proposed rule in the Federal Register with a public comment period. Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE), the chair of the Senate Commerce Committee's subcommittee on surface transportation, wrote a letter to Secretary Foxx regarding FMCSA's decision to release an app designed to provide streamlined mobile-device access to Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) data on trucking companies.  Senator Fischer has serious concerns about FMCSA's decision to use resources to enhance public access to inaccurate data. NationaLease has unveiled the Emergency Services and Fuel Directory mobile application.  This tool will provide drivers with NationaLease member locations that offer emergency road service.  The app is free to download for all member company customers.
