TRALA Announces 2011 Scholarship Recipients

Alexandria, VA – March 30, 2011 – The Truck Renting and Leasing Association (TRALA) has named Sarah Bogdan of Coral Springs, Florida, and Laura Seeberg of Naperville, Illinois, the TRALA Scholarship recipients for 2011. This year's recipients will each receive a $5,000 scholarship that is renewable for three more years of college if they maintain full-time enrollment and a minimum 3.0 grade point average. The recipients were announced at TRALA's 33th Annual Meeting in Palm Springs, California.

The TRALA Scholarship rewards the children of member company employees for outstanding scholastic and personal achievements. “We are very pleased to have the opportunity to assist two exceptional students,” said TRALA President and CEO Thomas M. James. “Over 200 students applied for this year's two scholarships, proof that the TRALA Scholarship Program is now the most recognized and generous scholarship program in the trucking industry.”


Sarah, the daughter of Matthew Bogdan, of NationaLease and his wife Valerie, attends Cardinal Gibbons High School in Coral Springs, Florida, where she is an AP Scholar, ranked 3rd in her senior class, President of National Honor Society 2010-2011 and a Silver Knights nominee for Yoga for Breast Cancer service project. She plans to attend Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, and major in biology.


Laura, the daughter of Phillip Seeberg, an employee of Navistar, Inc. and his wife Lisa, attends the Nuequa Valley High School in Naperville, Illinois, where she is a member of the Youth and Government, the French Honors Society and a National Merit Commended Scholar. In addition to her academic talents, she is also a Marching Band section leader and Honors All-State Band IMEA 2011. She plans to attend Northwestern University in the Fall.
