Cummins Inc. has appointed Rich Freeland to the position of president and chief operating officer. He will report to Tom Linebarger, who will remain chairman and chief executive officer. Dave Crompton will succeed Freeland as president of the engine business. Steve Charlton, vice president and chief technical officer for the Engine Business division at Cummins, retired July 1 and has been replaced by Jennifer Rumsey, who will become vp-engineering. . .Larry Smith has been promoted to director of Fleet Operations for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA). . .J.J. Keller & Associates, Inc. has promoted Randy Thome to the newly created position of vice president of technology services. . .Carl Try has been promoted to the role of vice president of development and Adam Madsen to the role of director of product management for Karmak, Inc.
