Volvo Trucks North America has announced a $69-million investment for the redesign of its New River Valley (NRV) truck-assembly plant in Dublin, VA. . .Cervus Equipment has entered into an agreement to purchase Peterbilt of Ontario for about $25.5 million. . .Eaton Corp. has expanded its warranty program on remanufactured transmissions to now include all commercial truck vocations in the U.S. and Canada. . .Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems and Bendix Spiver Foundation Brake (BCFB) have earned a spot on PACCAR's list of premier suppliers because both companies have product defects that are below 50 PPM. . .Mack Trucks has announced a $26-million upgrade of its Macungie, PA Cab & Vehicle Assembly plant and the company has opened two new facilities in Canada, located in Saskatchewan and Quebec. . .The Kenworth Sales Company in West Valley City, Utah, recently hosted the 6th annual Rods, Hogs & Rigs Extravaganza.  All proceeds from the event supports Stansbury Elementary School's Extended Learning Program.  Kenworth Sales Company adopted the school six years ago and has been involved in many aspects of the school. . .Hendrickson has acquired the leaf sprig and stabilizer segment from the Austrian Frauenthal Group.

Cummins Inc. has appointed Rich Freeland to the position of president and chief operating officer.  He will report to Tom Linebarger, who will remain chairman and chief executive officer.  Dave Crompton will succeed Freeland as president of the engine business. Steve Charlton, vice president and chief technical officer for the Engine Business division at Cummins, retired July 1 and has been replaced by Jennifer Rumsey, who will become vp-engineering. . .Larry Smith has been promoted to director of Fleet Operations for Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America, Inc. (MFTA). . .J.J. Keller & Associates, Inc. has promoted Randy Thome to the newly created position of vice president of technology services. . .Carl Try has been promoted to the role of vice president of development and  Adam Madsen to the role of director of product management for Karmak, Inc. The company has also announced that David Green will join the company in the role of a Business Consultant.
