TRALA Elects Tom Thayer, President & CEO of
International Truck Sales of Richmond, Inc./Idealease of Richmond, LLC,
To TRALA Board of Directors

Alexandria, VA – October 20, 2004 – International Truck Sales/Idealease of Richmond President & CEO Tom Thayer of Richmond, Virginia was unanimously elected to the Truck Renting and Leasing Association Board of Directors by the Board at the association’s 2004 Fall Leadership Meeting held October 13-17 in ,Southampton, Bermuda.

“We are very pleased to have Tom with us,” said TRALA Board Chairman Jerry Kress of Carmenita Leasing. “He brings a real breadth of knowledge about our business to the Board having been in the industry for more than 20 years.”

“I cannot imagine a more qualified individual to participate on TRALA’s Board.” said TRALA President & CEO Peter Vroom in welcoming Thayer back. Thayer had served as a TRALA Director in the mid-90s when he was director of North America Operations for Mack Leasing. “Knowing Tom, he will be a very active participant in our organization. He has always demonstrated a “roll up your sleeves and dig in” attitude and I know he will bring those qualities to his work with TRALA.

“I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues in TRALA again,” said Thayer. “TRALA provides a vital instrument to those in the truck renting and leasing industry when it comes to legislation and industry support. Regardless of being part of an independent leasing system, involvement in TRALA is particularly important to ensure that there is a positive regulatory and legislative climate for our industry to compete without hindrances in the marketplace.”

The Truck Renting and Leasing Association, based in Alexandria, VA, is a voluntary, non-profit national trade association, organized in 1978 to provide a unified and focused voice for the truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA's membership includes more than 600 leasing and rental firms and 100 suppliers that make up nearly the entire truck renting and leasing industry. The industry is responsible for approximately 40 percent of all new class 3 through 8 commercial truck registrations.
