TRALA ELECTS NATIONALEASE PRESIDENT AS 2002-2003 CHAIRMAN
ALEXANDRIA, VA - April 15, 2002 - NationaLease President William J. Ford was unanimously chosen by the members of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association as its 2002-2003 Chairman at the association's 2002 National Leadership Conference and 24th Annual Meeting held April 3-7 in San Diego.
Ford, a TRALA member for 17 years, challenged the association to actively promote membership to the broader leasing industry, particularly finance lessors who benefit from the association's legislative efforts. In addition, Ford encouraged the members to strengthen the industry's image and work with TRALA's leadership as they create programs and services to help each company become more productive and profitable.
"I am embracing these goals and urge you to work along with me to make these things happen," Ford, of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., told members in his acceptance speech on April 6. "Together, we're going to make our industry an unbeatable force in the transportation world."

The Truck Renting and Leasing Association, based in Alexandria, Va., is a voluntary, non-profit national trade association, organized in 1978 to provide a unified and focused voice for the truck renting and leasing industry. TRALA's membership includes more than 650 leasing and rental firms and 100 suppliers that make up nearly the entire full-service truck renting and leasing industry. The industry is responsible for approximately 40 percent of all new class 3 through 8 commercial truck registrations.
