Texas Gross Lease Receipts Tax

TRALA is actively opposing Texas legislation, Senate Bill 996, which would impose a 1% gross lease receipts surcharge on leased trucks weighing over 14,000 pounds and a 6.25% gross lease receipts tax on all vehicles leased for more than 180 days in the state. The bill would also establish a 6.25% gross receipts use tax on trucks leased out-of-state but operating in Texas.
