HELP TRALA OPPOSE THE “CARD CHECK” BILL
Contact Your Representatives in Congress and Local Media
TRALA urges its members to join in the fight against the Employee Free Choice Act, also known as the card check bill. This bill would allow union organizers to side-step the democratic process and current federal labor law by eliminating secret ballots. It would also mandate binding arbitration in labor contract disputes. This bill is the wrong idea at the wrong time.
The truck renting and leasing industry is facing the worst economy in decades and all of our companies are attempting to cut costs wherever possible and practical. In many cases, this is being done to preserve existing jobs. The card check bill being pushed by union bosses will instead threaten jobs and slow needed economic recovery.
